Special Incentive Scheme for Girl Students

Incentive to girls are provided from 1994-95 to encourage the enrollment of girls and to avoid their dropouts. Under this scheme, the Government is giving a sum of Rs.50/- per month to each student as incentive for 10 months of the year. Totally, Rs.500/- has been given as one lump sum to the tribal girls, who are studying in Standards III to V.

Similarly in the scheduled tribes girls who are continuing their education beyond VI Standard are given a sum of Rs.100/- each p.m. for 10 months. Girls Incentive Scheme is extended to VII & VIII standard from the year 2013-2014. Under this scheme, the Government is giving Rs.1500/- to each girl student annually as one lump sum to tribal girls to those who are studying in Government / Government aided school in VII & VIII Standard. This scheme was implemented by TAHDCO upto 1999-2000. From 2000-2001 onwards, this scheme is being implemented directly by the Directorate of Adi Dravidar Welfare, Chennai.

  • The money is deposited in their Mother’s respective Post office savings account/Student’s Bank Account
  • No income limit.
  • Tribal Girls only.
