Both residential and Non - residential scholarships are awarded to the students belonging to tribal communities who continue their studies beyond Standard X. The annual income limit of the parent/guardian for sanctioning Government of India scholarship for Scheduled Tribes students should not exceed Rs.2,50,000/-p.a. Under this scheme, the students are sanctioned maintenance allowance and all fees compulsorily payable by them to the educational institutions and examination fees payable to the University / Board. The monthly rate of maintenance allowance ranges from Rs.230/-p.m. to Rs.550/-p.m. for day-scholar and from Rs.380/-p.m. to Rs.1200/-p.m. for hosteller. As per G.O.Ms.No.6, Adi Dravidar & Tribal Welfare Department, (ADW.3) Dated. 09.01.2012, the Government of India Post-Matric Scholarship has been extended to the Tribal students those who continue their studies in the self-finance institutions. They are given the assistance depending upon the course in which they study in order to meet the essential expenditure towards compulsory fees payable to the educational institutions, as fixed by Govt., / Government appointed fee fixation committee from 2011-2012.

Besides this, all the compulsory & non refundable fees payable by the students studying in Government / Government aided institutions are sanctioned as Scholarship.

ST students studying in self financing colleges are, also, eligible to get scholarship under this scheme. They are exempted from paying Course fees and Institution fees which are directly compensated by the Tribal Welfare Department. Maintenance allowance depending upon the class they study is also paid to the students.

The students studying in Industrial Training Institutes are also offered Post Matric scholarship irrespective of their minimum educational qualification.

Fees fixed by the committee are exempted for the students studying in self finance colleges. Students are also sanctioned with maintenance allowance.

Maintenance Charges:

The following benefits are extended to the other abled students from 01.07.2010

  1. Reader allowance for blind scholar ranging from Rs.160/- to Rs.240/-
  2. Provision of transport allowance of Rs.160/- per month for the other abled student, if a student does not reside in the hostel, which is within the premises of educational institution. (The disability as per the said act is defined as blindness, low-vision, leprosy-cured, hearing impairment, locomotor disability, mental retardation and mental illness).
  3. Escort allowance of Rs.160/- per month for severely handicapped day scholar student with lower extreme disability.
  4. Special pay of Rs.160/- per month will be admissible to any employee of the hostel, who extends help to a severely orthopedically handicapped student residing in the hostel managed by the educational institution, or by the State Government who may need the assistance of a helper.
