Government of India Post Matric scholarships are awarded to students belonging to Scheduled Tribe students for Post Matric courses. The students are sanctioned with maintenance allowance and all fees compulsorily payable by them to the educational institutions. The monthly rate of maintenance allowance are revised with effect from 1.7.2010 (i.e) Parents/guardians income from all sources should not exceed Rs.2,50,000 p.a in respect of Scheduled Tribes. The monthly rate of maintenance allowance ranges from Rs.230/- to Rs.550/- for day scholars and Rs.380/- to 1200/- for hostellers. The Government of India bears 100% of the total expenditure over and above the committed liability.
Scheduled tribe students pursuing IX and X standard in recognized institution are provided with Pre matric scholarship. Maintenance allowance for day scholars Rs.150/- per month and for hostellers Rs.350/- per month along with adhoc grant of Rs.750 per annum for day scholars and Rs.1000/- per annum for hostellers will be sanctioned as scholarship. This centrally sponsored scheme's sharing pattern is 100% over and above the committed liability of State. ST Students whose annual parental income is less than or equal to 2.00 Lakhs are covered under the scheme.
The award of Pre Matric scholarship to the children of those engaged in unclean occupation (scavenging of dry latrines, flaying and sweeping) irrespective of income, community and religion are being covered under this scheme. The Government of India bears 100% of expenditure over and above the committed level. The monthly rate of maintenance allowance ranges from Rs. 110/ p.m. for students from 1 st Std to X std for day scholars and Rs.700 p.m. for students from III rd std to X std for hostellers. In addition to this, a sum of adhoc grant of Rs.750 p.a is paid to day scholars and Rs.1000/ p.a for hostellers. This scheme is implemented by Adi Dravidar Welfare Department
The Tribal students studying in standard 6th to 12th are exempted from the payment of special fees. The expenditure incurred by Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Schools on account of the exemption granted are reimbursed by this Department to the institutions through the POs / DADWOs The examination fees payable for the X standard and XII standard public examinations are reimbursed to the Director of Government Examinations. There is no income limit for this
Under this scheme special fees, examination fees in respect of Tribes under State/ Government of India scholarship schemes are reimbursed to the head of the institution by the Project Officer / District Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Officers. Under this scheme all the nonrefundable fees payable by the students to institutions are also sanctioned. No income limit is fixed to avail the benefit under this scheme.
Under this scheme special fees, examination fees in respect of Scheduled Tribe girls students pursuing post graduate courses who are not covered under State/Government of India schemes are reimbursed to the head of the institution. No income limit is fixed.
